About
Sofía Antonieta is a freelance filmmaker, photographer, and content creator based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her work combines documentary-style storytelling with a love for the outdoors, producing visuals that highlight people, places, and the connections between them.
Over the past several years, she has collaborated with clients ranging from local businesses and nonprofits to environmental organizations and sailing brands. Notable projects include a documentary on the UNC-Chapel Hill nursing class of 1961, a profile of Till-Till Native Eugenio Huerta, event and brand work in Wilmington, and ongoing collaborations with Sea Earth Sail in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Sofía also developed Life Afloat, a mini-documentary series sharing the stories of cruisers and liveaboards around the world, inspired by her own time living on a boat.
Her photography spans underwater and surf imagery to lifestyle portraits, graduations, and brand work, always aiming to capture natural energy and authentic connection.
Born and raised in Maryland with Chilean, Italian, and Croatian roots, Sofía is fluent in English and Spanish. Her multicultural background and passion for communication shape her perspective as a storyteller and drive her to create work that transcends language and culture.
When she’s not behind the camera, she can be found sailing, climbing, surfing, or running, always exploring new places and new stories.
